Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse organziation is a 501c non-profit corporation, managed by a Board of Directors.  BCYL board members are volunteers, and the board meets quarterly.  We are based in Los Alamitos, Seal Beach, Long Beach, and invite girls and boys from Grades 3-8 from Orange or Los Angeles Counties.  Our practice season is Fall, with weekly practices/clinics starting in September, and our competitive season is Winter, January to March.

The BCYL teams play other Orange County lacrosse teams in the OCLA (Orange County Lacrosse Assn).  There is a brief, less formal Spring season, from April to June.

Our mission
-  Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse will promote the sport of lacrosse and elevate the level of play within our community. We play all players as equally as possible with the goal of teaching the sport and providing a fun experience for all involved. We police ourselves in the effort to provide an outlet for kids that has not been swept up in the pressure filled, win-at-all-cost mania that is too present in today's youth sports. The focus of this organization is to support the Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse Teams and to work cooperatively with the schools for the benefit of all lacrosse athletes. We shall serve in an advisory and support capacity when the time comes for when individual schools are ready to have separate teams. We are all US Lacrosse members and fully insured. We endorse 3 principle quailities, Safe, Fair, Fun....

Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse policies:
Everyone Plays  Our program’s goal is for kids to play Lacrosse—playing time is as balanced as possible.

Balanced Teams
Each year we form new teams as evenly balanced as possible—because it is fair and more fun when teams of equal ability play.

Open Registration  Our program is open to all children, boys and girls, between grades 3 to 6. Interest and enthusiasm are the only criteria for playing.

Positive Coaching  Encouragement of player effort provides for greater enjoyment by the players and ultimately leads to better-skilled and better-motivated players. We use coaching methods called PCA - Positive Coaching Alliance; enforcing sportsmanship, ethics, and helping today's youth meet tomorrows challenges, via Lacrosse.

Good Sportsmanship  We strive to create a positive environment based on mutual respect rather than a win-at-all-costs attitude, and our program is designed to instill good sportsmanship in every facet of Beach Cities Youth Lacrosse.
